Before these mounts came out, i used the best ram mounts available for three humminbird 1199 units. no matter how tight you make that ball, the units would eventually move around from running over rough water and wind pressure. have you ever tried to re-position your gps screen racing on the rough water while trying to steer the boat and watch where you're going ?the balzout mounts are rock.
